RCG, as a structural engineering subcontractor to ICF Consulting, provided structural evaluations and feasibility studies for installation of solar panels on City-owned properties for the SF Public Utilities Commission. Properties included Muni Maintenance Buildings, Corporation Yards, Middle and High Schools, Community Colleges, SF International Airport Terminal 3, SF General Hospital, and Pier 40. The work scope included gathering of building information through drawing reviews and site visits, development of conceptual layouts of solar panel arrays, roof gravity load analyses to determine adequacy of roof framing members, and schematic design of solar panel support framing at selected locations (SF General Hospital Parking Structure shown above).
