project description
RCG was engaged by the General Contractor (BCCI) to design temporary bracing for the south elevation of the pier due to the removal and replacement of the concrete walls. Steel rod braces were carefully designed to fit within the existing steel roll-up door bays during the wall reconstruction phase. A seismic analysis of the pier was performed and braces designed to meet SF Building Code requirements. Additionally RCG has designed a permanent elevated walkway along the length of the pier with stairs, ramps and guardrails to accommodate egress and trailer access requirements.
