Fountaingrove Offices Settlement Remediation – Santa Rosa, CA
The four story steel-framed office building was subject to severe differential settlement due to a shallow spread footing foundation system constructed over a cut and fill site underlain by clayey soils. Extensive damage was occurring to building cladding, interior walls and the slab on grade. Surveys were conducted to determine the extent and nature of settlement. RCG worked closely with a geotechnical engineer to develop a unique deep pin-pile underpinning concept that connected the piles to the existing spread footings to arrest further movement. The piles were installed while the building was largely occupied. The building is now stabilized and building repairs completed.
