The “GSA Center 21 Build Out” project established a new satellite office for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Federal Agency signed a 15 year lease for 76,737 sf over 5 floors of the 20 story steel framed office building in downtown Oakland. Tenant improvements included the installation of a new dedicated elevator to service the 5 floors, evaluation and strengthening of floors at storage rooms, fitness center floor evaluation, security screen installation designs, server room equipment anchorage, alterations at loading dock, and other miscellaneous tenant improvements. RCG was also responsible for conducting a seismic safety evaluation of the office tower in accordance with ASCE 31 as a prerequisite to the Government lease. RCG provided complete structural engineering services from schematic design through final construction.
